Sangiovese

2007

$17.95

The Characteristics

Sangiovese does extremely well on the Adelaide Plains. The clone that we have chosen to best suit the vineyards of our estate originates from the Chianti region in Italy.

Our rich red terra rossa style soil, Mediterranean-maritime climate and restricted yields in the vineyard are ideal for Sangiovese … producing a wine which is evolving into its own distinctive Mediterranean-Australian style.

Colour
A Richly Coloured Red

Aroma
Violets Cherries Raspberries

Palate
A fresh, fruity red wine with nuances of savoury cherry and plum.
Silky tannins … medium bodied …. finishing with refreshing acidity
Slight savoury, farmyard nuances marrying with Sangiovese’s
traditional soft, fruity, spicy and aromatic characteristics.
A generous length with a persistent finish.

The Vintage

The very warm Harvest of 2007 produced grapes with rich ripe flavours
of wild cherry, summer berries and savoury spice ... evolving after time in French and American oak, into a juicy, elegant wine with traditional Sangiovese earthy, savoury characters.
